Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea

It is with genuine sadness that I must announce the death of  Seaview's "crewman Ray."  Ray's obituary follows.  -- Mike
Harold Raymond "Ray" Didsbury, 75, of Cathedral City died May 16, 2006 at home of lung cancer.
He was born May 31, 1930 to Wallace and Bessie Fox Didsbury  in Winchester, Conn.
He worked in the motion picture industry for many years and served in the Navy from 1948 to 1952.
He was a volunteer computer instructor at Cathedral City Library for many years.  His ashes have been scattered at sea.
It is suggested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Several years ago, I was lucky enough to make contact with Ray Didsbury, and found him to be a genuinely nice person.  He was articulate, warm and friendly in helping me put together the article found on this web site about his time aboard Seaview.  Even though I only communicated with him via email, I got a sense that he was a good person and that I liked him.  Ray has preceded us on our next voyage.  He joins Richard Basehart, Paul Carr, Irwin Allen, and numerous members of the Voyage production team.
