Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea

Luis Ramos Janeiros      Luis Ramos Janeiro was born February 3, 1957 in Caracas City, Venezuela.  He grew up there, and in 1989, graduated from Central University of Venezuela with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
Luis is now a mechanical engineer and 3D project designer.  Oh--and a big fan of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.  If you would like to email Luis with questions or comments, you may do so by clicking

To make his computer models of Seaview and the Flying Sub, Luis first creates a wire mesh model of each part.  These are made separately and based on research of Seaview's relative size and construction from material he has found on this website, and from other sources.  The model scale is 1:1 and based on the color-years four-port version of Seaview.  This was a personal subjective choice; Luis prefers the latter-seasons version of Seaview best, although he readily admits that many fans prefer the movie and season one version.

Working part time, the Seaview and Flying Sub were completed over a period of ten months.  When the model work is finished, Luis proceeds to create layout, and environments and decides on composition of the final scene.  He moves things about and plays with them until he is satisfied he has the desired frame and shot.  It is his intention to reflect the original style and feel of the series.

Very soon, Luis will be adding various creatures, undersea laboratories and alien space craft to his collection, and will share them with this website.  Very exciting.  Thanks to Luis Ramos Janeiro.
