Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea

Rare photo out-take of the filming of Lee Crane's underwater approach for priming of the nuclear missile at the climax of the 1961 Voyage feature.  Shot in what was commonly referred to as the moat on the 20th-Century Fox lot.  Natural outdoor lighting was softened by the use of scrim stretched over the tank directly overhead.   Below, photo out-take of Crane attaching guidance mechanism to warhead.

Rare out-take shows underwater photographers, probably one of whom is John Lamb in the tank at 20th.
