It was the above sort of dramatic photography which had won Winton C. Hoch Academy Awards for his work in the movies.  Note that the set is dressed out so that the overhead detail can be included in the shot.  The main control-room set was built in modules, which could be removed or added, depending upon what perspective the action was to be photoraphed from.
