Hello every one just thought who ever is interested that the Moebius model of the 39" seaview has been released as of 4/8/08 and it looks as accurate as you will ever get for the money and size!
all you have to do is build it!

does any body got info on the last season of voyage's release?
Thanks Phil

Comment:
Sorry to say Phil, it looks like season 4 may be delayed quite a while due to lesser sales of season 3. Fox has no plans to do season 4 at this time. Rats.

I loved the show when I was a child and have just started collecting the DVDs.
I just saw a two foot repilca in the new starlog mag, but I don't have $700 to invest. I just started looking at the site and it look pretty good. I will check back with this site on a regular schedule. Good job on the site

Fantastic website! You can't just glance at one thing and leave. Once you look, you're hooked, and explore the entire website. I'm surprised at all the really nostalgic behind the scenes photos and info concerning the cast and crew as well as the model and Mike's museum sections. Wow! Occasionally, I check back to look for new bits of info.
Suggestion. Since Seaquest DSV was allegedly an updated version of Voyage To The Bottom of The Sea (supposedly), perhaps there could be a Seaquest website similar the Serenity website.
Beautiful website! If there was a rating system I'd give Mike's Voyage To The Bottom of The Sea Zone an A+!

I don't know if anyone wants to hear(read?) this, but VttBotS Season 4 IS available. That's the good news. The bad news is that is in a boxed set distributed by a company other than Fox, so it likely won't be of the same quality. Worse, if you have already purchased the first three seasons (as I have), you'd essentially be forking out the same amount just to get the last 26 episodes. A distributor named dvdavenue is selling the complete set for $199. Is the final season worth $199 to me?- - -probably - - MAYBE - -not. But I won't deny I am getting antsy pants waiting for an announcement. I am a September baby, and if Fox hasn't gotten off the dime by August, it will be very tempting for me order this set as an EXPENSIVE 46th birthday gift for myself. If you Google around some of the forums, you will find a lot of very anxious Voyage fans who want to rattle Fox's cage over this unseemly delay. . .

If year four never gets released new fans will never discover the wonders of year four episode: THE TERRIBLE LEPRACHAUN.

Despite being hated by most, I actually love this episode and the very new Leith Stevens score that plays over it.

However, I could not make out if www.vttbots.com reviewer Mark Phillips liked it or not?

Michael and others: I've been doing my best to monitor the non-news about the 4th season DVD release date on the internet, and pretty much all you're going to get is speculation from people who probably don't know any more than you do. At first, I felt pretty confident VttBoS Season 4 would be out this spring and an announcement would be forthcoming. I made no sense to me that Fox might release three seasons and stop there. But I'm starting to get concerned, too. I've noticed the big-box stores that sold the previous Voyage DVDs seem to have swept them off their shelves and replaced them with the post-modern crap Fox has been cranking out lately. Not a good sign, but I hope I'm wrong.

This is a wonderful web-site - an excellent tribute to an adventurous and inspiring undersea drama. If more people today could see and grasp the ideals of Voyage, the World would be a better place. The "dreams of tomorrow" can only be achieved by people that work with the conviction of their beliefs, work with thought and deliberation, and are finally held accountable for their success or failure - all the while knowing that Progress is not a goal, but a continuing process that can never end.

New Years' greetings to all VttBotS fans. I'm hoping someone out there might have some info to post on the release of the VttBotS Season 4, Volume 1 DVD set. Since they started rolling out in 2005, each new set has been released the third week of each the month, every fourth month, like clockwork. That would put the next release date at Feb. 19, but unlike the past six releases, I've been unable to find any word let alone any outlets that are pre-selling it. Each previous set, I've been able to pre-order a full two months ahead of time. If anyone has heard anything, please post or shoot me an e-mail.

G'day Mike I love the site I'm finding it hard not to spend time on it when I should be working. I absolutly loved VTTBOS when I was a kid in fact I was hooked on all of Irwin Allens tv sci-fishows. The only sad part is when I talk to people today not many even know about some of the shows!! And now I may have to invest in a DVD player that does region 1 so I can get the DVD's.

Once again thanks for a great site.

Mike, the revised graphics to the episode guide are going very well. The widescreen shaped grahic for Death Watch (with Nelson in the empty control room) is very clever, it makes me wish the series was made in widescreen like we get with today's tv! The graphics for The Fossil Men, The Heat Monster, Doomsday Island and The Terrible Toys capture the guts of the shows very well. With year three's The Creature, I would of added a still with the creature's lightning bolts sending the Seaview miniature crashing to the bottom...but that is just me. And finally, The Deadly Cloud is a bit lacking in graphics, but all in all, a fine job that captures the visual magic of year three very well. Good work.
PS I agree, Hedison did look like he was holding back laughter in that Heat Monster graphic you gave us.

Comment:
I'm not sure, but I think Deadly Cloud has been updated since your visit. And OK, I hunted up a shot of seaview getting zapped by The Creature. :)

First of all, I just want to say that your site is excellent. Nice to see such detail put in to this excellent show.

So, I started to watch the rest of Season 2, Vol 2 before I got on with all of Season 3 (Vols 1 and 2). The difference between Seasons 2 and 3 are quite striking, especially in the budget department. I read somewhere that by Season 3, Irwin decided on a "dry set" policy which I believe really hampered the feel of the show because no longer could water splash onto the set for realistic hull breach scenes. All we got in Season 3 was "steam leaks", quite a difference from Season 1's "Submarine Sunk Here" to many of the Season 2 eps. that at least had one hose squirting water onto the set. But, at least Season 3 had lots of sparks flying out of the equipment everytime something hit the sub or the sub hit bottom, etc. My wife was watching some of the Season 3 eps. with me and commented after the fifth episode, "what's with all the sparks all the time flying out of that stuff?" I had to laugh... VTTBOTS wouldn't be what it is without many sparks flying.

Interestingly, I noticed in the Season 2 Vol2 episode, "The Monster's Web" that Richard Basehart must have either had some vacation days that he used, or he was upset, because there are many scenes where you can hear his voice dubbed in, but clearly a double is used to show the Admiral passing by Gantt to get to the controls of FS1 or climbing down the hatch into FS1 wearing his hat to conceal his face. But, at least Riley got to shine in this episode with Gantt retrieving those cylinders.

Finally, after watching all of Season 3 (vols 1 and 2), I just have to ask, "how many times can the men of Seaview be taken over by aliens, or brainwashed by 'mysterious countries', etc.?" By the end of Season 3 it was becoming quite tedious to see all the "he's been taken over, now let's roam the sub for a while back and forth." Ah, budget cuts....

Well.. here's to what Season 4 has to offer in the rubber-suited monster of the week category. At least Vincent Price will show up.

Here's one for the "too much information, thanks" file: I don't know how I managed to skip re-viewing "The Thing from Inner Space" on VttBotS Ssn. 3, Vol. 1, but I did. (This one makes my top 20 of Voyage eps.) Anyway, it brought back a memory. Not only was "the thing" the scariest-looking of all the Voyage monsters, it had the best roar. I was six and my brother was 14 the first time I saw it, and I remember spinning around from my crossed-legged position on the floor in front of the TV, pointing at my brother and noting "the thing's" roar sounded much like his belching. (He had the enviable talent of belching at will.)Of course, this ended up encouraging him to emit his trademark, artificial belch for a solid week, now accented with menacing, "thing-like" hand gestures. . . . .(!!!). . .A more savory observation about "The Thing from Inner Space": Hugh Marlow's performance when the thing broke free and stalked toward him in the lab is one of the more vivid illustrations of a human being in sheer terror of impending death ever recorded on film

Hello,

I am enyoing your site verry much. This serie was also broadcast in The Netherlands. I was very young at that time. One episode I can remember well. Its about a seamonster who is kept in a smal jar inside the submarine. But when he is released from the jar, he grows giantely and when he is outside the submarine he held the boat in his arms. This scene I always remember. Good luck with your website

Mike,

Thanks for including photos of the upcoming 39" Seview model kit by Moebius Models on your site. I share your enthusiasm for this item as it seems to be a great value--and in fact I know of at least one vendor that has it priced at $79! Will you be devoting a separate page to the painting and assembly for this kit sometime in the future? I suspect that at some point one of the plastic model magazines (Fine Scale Modeler, perhaps) will feature an article on the kit, so I will try to watch the FSM forum and keep you informed.

Also on the model kit horizon from Moebius: 1/24 scale models of the "Chariot" and the "Pod" from 'Lost in Space'. Not sure if these are coming out this year though.

Michael
